The One With Crochet in The Wild!

Last weekend The Technician and I went camping ... just for one night, just the two of us. It was a nice relaxing time away from the kids and work and school and chores ...

We hiked and roasted hot dogs and had a campfire ... but mostly we had only two things on our agenda:
While T. did this:

I sat on the bank of the river and did lots of this:

I signed up for the summer cotton yarn swap over at crochetville, and I am thinking that some hand-crocheted wash cloths with some yummy soaps might be good "extras" to include for my swap partner. So that is what I worked on while T. fished ... it was lovely. We hiked around until T found a "really good fishing hole" and I sat on a rock or a log and crocheted ... I took breaks to take pictures (one picture-addict in our family MIGHT have taken almost 300 photos in just a one-night camping trip ... but that person shall remain nameless) and just sit back and take in our beautiful surroundings ... and then when T decided that the "really good fishing hole" was not-so-good after all, we hiked until we found the next "great" fishing hole ... I was not so picky, however. Every location was a "really great" crochet spot!

Here are a few more of my favorite photos from the weekend:

Oh wow! I know that I am commenting belatedly (I am trying valiantly to get caught up on my blog reading) but I really had something to say.

This pictures are stunning. Truly beautiful. They look like greeting cards. Did ya'll go camping near your home? What a wonderful, restful weekend. Color me green with envy.
