So ... work is insanely busy. School is insanely busy. Kids are busy. The Technician is working on extra projects and stuff at work, and therefore he is extremely busy. Why can't the world just LEAVE ME ALONE to blog and crochet and scrapbook? THESE THINGS ARE IMPORTANT PEOPLE!!
Okay ... so I have been doing a little bit of crocheting and some decorating. But not as much crafty stuff as I would like.
I finished the big-sister blanket a while ago, but have yet to take a picture of the completed project. But I will someday (if everyone will just LEAVE. ME. ALONE.) and I will post it. I have also started two Baby It's Cold Outside baby sweaters from CrochetMe for the twins. But again, no pictures of those.
What I DO have pictures of are not quite as exciting. But at least it is proof that I still crochet ... occasionally ... when I am not working/studying/watching T-ball/making dinner/paying bills/cleaining the bathroom/working more/studying more/whining ...
First: Some charity squares that I sent off to Kathy from Crochetville. She is making lapghans for a patients at a brain trauma hospital where her son is at. (You can read about her son's journey here)
These solid color squares were made from the Lovely in Lavender square pattern that I found on Crochet Pattern Central. I love this pattern, and I will use it again. The fpdc adds interesting texture to a pretty standard square.

Second: What will be a pillow for our bed, to match the new beautiful duvet cover that I bought last weekend!! I am making this with 3 ball of Paton's SWS, in natural blue. I am going to felt it and then stuff it and it will be SO. CUTE. on our new bed (note the cute light blue/aqua color of said duvet cover under crochet)

I just love this yarn, the colors ... looking at these pictures makes me happy. I love the color of my new duvet cover, the way the colors of the yarn coordinate with it, and I love the way this yarn feels in my hand as I crochet with it ... so soft! I have a scrap piece of SWS in my car, in the center console where it has sat for months since I was working on another project while in the car. I always pick it up and feel it, pet it, admire it ... I don't want to throw it away, even though it is only like 6 inches of extra yarn ... it is just so pretty and soft. And I love the way the crochet stitches look in this yarn ... I almost don't want to felt it, because the stitches are so pretty. I am totally a yarn dork. Does anyone else do weird things like this? Do you save extra bits of your favorite yarns, just because you want to admire it and you can't bear to part with it? No? Must just be me then.
Ok, so after looking at these pictures again and thinking about my yarn I don't feel so much like whining ... there is just something about working with fibers that is just so ... Zen. Peaceful. Quiet in a world full of chaos. Oh, man I am such a yarn dork.

Yes! I too fondle scraps of yarn. And the Patons SWS is sooooooo very fondle worthy. I'm curious to know what happens if you choose to felt it.
Tag! You're it. (Read my post from today - "Random Facts".
I hope all is well with you.
I just saw your blog today and was pleased to see pix of your Lovely in Lavender square. I'm glad you like my pattern!
